Frequently Asked Questions
Can these products be used on lakes?
Many of these products are suitable for use on calm lakes and other calm bodies of water, including our Inflatables and Foam Noodles. We do not recommend use of our bean-filled items on open water. Always avoid areas with strong currents, rough water, high winds, or heavy boat traffic.
Can these products be used in the ocean?
We do not recommend using Big Joe water products in the ocean. Ocean currents, tides, waves, and changing conditions can quickly create unsafe conditions.
Are Big Joe water products Coast Guard-approved flotation devices?
No. Big Joe water products are recreational floats and loungers only. They are not personal flotation devices (PFDs) or lifesaving equipment.
Do bean-filled water products absorb water?
No. Our bean-filled water products use quick-drying mesh fabrics that allow water to flow through while the buoyant beans remain securely inside, helping the product dry quickly after use.
